Yes, you read that right. A Georgia man apparently saw an entrepreneurial opportunity and stole it. Brandon Lee Nelson of Peachtree City, GA., allegedly swiped 150 pounds of waffle mix from an old employer of his and started himself a nice little home business.
Police say that Mr. Nelson took five boxes of Golden Malted waffle batter from the storage shed that belonged to his previous employer.
Per Peachtree City police spokesperson Lt. Odilia Bergh, Nelson had a “stream of buyers that would contact him for the waffle mix and he would provide it when contacted. He is the seller of waffle mix.”
Those pesky video cameras.
Authorities state that Nelson allegedly drove to the storage facility in the early afternoon of Aug. 31st and proceeded to break in to the shed. Being a former employee, he naturally knew where the mix was stored. The product was actually not reported stolen until Sept. 10th, at which point video surveillance ID’d Nelson as the perp. Police say that he was arrested at his home later that afternoon.
Needless to say, social media had some fun with this story.
Sounds like a battered husband to me.
