As expected, Harvey Weinstein has pleaded not guilty to rape and other sex charges this morning.
During the 30 minute arraignment spectators state that he appeared disheveled and expressionless. Weinstein is maintaining that the sexual encounters that he had with the women making the accusations were consensual. His next court appearance won’t be until September 20th later this year.

It is expected that his attorney will attempt to have these charges thrown out citing lack of evidence.
After the news broke – so did social media. Many are drawing comparisons to Bill Clinton and others citing the recent #MeToo campaign.

#BillClintonIsARapist just like #BillCosby & #HarveyWeinstein but #BillClinton is simply too wealthy & too powerful ever to be held accountable for his countless crimes; #Democrats will defend his #sexualassault but the #MeToo movement is saying #TimesUp~! https://t.co/yn4ZQ9pptl

Had we addressed this all those years ago, perhaps we’d’ve set the precedents for the #HarveyWeinstein ‘s of the world.

By pleading not guilty Weinstein is subjecting his victims to a second assault, this time by the court system and media. Those women will not be treated kindly by the defence or the media. They are brave and I fully support them #HarveyWeinstein #MeToo #IBelieveHer #ibelievethem
